Collection: Marked Poisonous in 1891

Fifteen sheets carry a species Dufour marked vénéneux — poisonous — in 1891. The death cap is here, and the panther cap, and the destroying angel.

The mark is transcribed with its date, as every mark in this archive is. The 1891 assessments were not all correct in either direction, which is the point of printing the accepted name beside the printed one.

A third mark, suspect, sits between the two and is not folded into either — fourteen sheets carry it, and it means the printer was unsure rather than certain of harm.
