About the plate

From Atlas des Champignons Comestibles et Vénéneux, Léon Dufour, Paris, 1891. Captions transcribed by hand from the plate.

A note on the 1891 marks

A historical document. Nomenclature and edibility assessments have changed considerably since 1891 — several species marked comestible here are now known to be toxic. Not a foraging guide.
